Milton Keynes/Leighton Buzzard, 28 January 2016
Drone Tech Aerospace Announces (DTA) its 1st Full Quarry Topographical Survey.
The technology team at DTA has for some 18 months now, been developing the DTA Survey1 drone ... its associated camera, gimbal, flight platform and control software, in order to hit market leading levels of accuracy and precision in drone photogrammetric topographical surveying.
After all of the R&D and exhaustive testing, DTA is now confident that it has mastered both the technology and operational procedures needed to attain technical leadership in topographical surveying.
This has culminated in our latest large scale deployment of the technology to successfully complete a full topographical survey of the Heath & Reach quarry near Leighton Buzzard, Buckinghamshire.
David Field, Managing Director of DTA, piloted the project personally and confirmed, "The Heath & Reach project was a great project to prove the true potential of our unique technology at DTA. To achieve high accuracy 17 Ground Control Points were installed using Trimble gear."
"We planned and flew the Quarry to a high specification with a target Ground Sample Distance (GSD) of 1.7cm averaged. Post processing was completed and yielded an accuracy of 3.5cm."
"Success with this project has now set the scene for us to move forward, pulling out all the stops to grow out business in high precision, high accuracy drone land surveying, taking advantage of our technology leadership."
